There’s no time like now to start a new project. I’ve been wanting to blog for a while, so this afternoon in sultry Panama, I decided to just sit down and do it. So this is it, my travel blog. If you know me at all, you know I love two things. Traveling and red soles. What you’ll find here is the story behind my Instagram photos.
A few months ago, I quit my job at a marketing agency and decided to base myself in Berlin. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of plane tickets, language classes and expat meet-ups.
One morning back in May, I had the opportunity to interview for a big fish. But I looked out my window the morning of the interview and realized that this wasn’t a life I wanted. It was a shocking discover. The girl who was so ambivalent about everything lately actually knew what she wanted. She wasn’t done traveling, and she was ready to do it solo. I called the recruiter and cancelled the meeting.
Soon thereafter, I got my French passport and bought a one-way ticket to Paris.
Fast forward to the last days of 2016. Since September, I’ve had the opportunity to (re)visit Paris, Nice and Barcelona and get my first glimpse of Amsterdam. I’ve also endlessly roamed the streets and cafes of Berlin. I’m ending this challenging but wonderful year in the mountains of Panama. Call it an eat pray love thing or my own journey, but I’m excited to see what’s next.
